Border E-xplorers

Ludo May loves crazy adventures. Since getting his SCOR 4060 Z e-bike his adventures have become even crazier. So, when Ludo told us his plan for a multiday e-bike adventure from Switzerland to Italy and back again we weren’t surprised. In fact, it sounded like our kind of crazy, so we asked if we could tag along. Over to Ludo…

Living in a remote valley, I love exploring. My 4060 Z is the perfect tool for this, pushing the limits of where I can go and what I can ride. This is what inspired my latest adventure – Thanks to electrical assistance, I can ride further and enjoy it even more.

With only our backpacks and bike battery chargers, Jérôme Caroli, Dominique Müller and I hopped on a bus from Le Châble to Mauvoisin to start our two day cross-border tour. We rode alongside the shimmering turquoise lake before starting the rocky climb.

Without a motor it’s a tough ride out of the valley, but the e-bikes made it a much smoother and fun way to gain height. We spotted some vultures gliding on the thermals, they seemed to be enjoying hanging out in the mountains as much as we did.

At 2,797 meters the Fenêtre de Durand Pass marked the border between Switzerland and Italy. The smell of pizza pulled us over to the other side. And the descent? Epic. Nothing more needs to be said.

We dropped into the village of Etroubles – with no E-troubles – to finish the day with an aperitivo and a well-earned pizza. A short climb in the dark took us to our cozy hotel where riders and bikes could recharge overnight.

The next day, we headed towards the Grand St. Bernard Pass, which would take us back into Switzerland, completing our loop. The e-bikes powered us up to an alpine trail with panoramic views of the Fenêtre lakes and Mont Blanc. With a mountain storm brewing, we decided to descend quickly. Some electricity is good, some isn’t…

After dodging the storm, we rolled back into Le Châble – tired, but the happy kind of tired.

E-bikes, like SCOR’s 4060 Z and 6080 Z, give you the power to do more. To get more from every ride, clean more climbs and ride more descents. And have more crazy adventures!

E-Bike Showdown: 4060 Z vs. 6080 Z

After their two-day alpine e-bike tour, Ludo and Jerome sit down to discuss who picked the right bike for these mountains: Ludo with his 4060 Z or Jerome with his 6080 Z.
